Volunteer at Mercy Recovery Center

Volunteers at Mercy Recovery Center play an important role in encouraging patients to move ahead with their recovery while in treatment. Because our volunteers themselves are in recovery, they also represent the miracles that happen every day when one alcoholic or addict helps another completely free of judgement.

Our volunteers facilitate more than 25 groups a week. They meet with patients once a week in a group setting in our in-patient detox program, our intensive out patient program, and our partial hospitalization program. Some volunteers are asked to come in and talk with our patients on a one-to-one basis if that is needed. Our volunteers also educate medical students and police officers about the disease of addiction two times a year.

If you would like more information about the qualifications and how to become a volunteer at Mercy Recovery Center please contact our volunteer coordinator Lisa Silverman by phone (207) 857-8041 or by e-mail.
